The Book of Mormon and the Bible grow together to confound the false doctrines.
John A McUne
Nephi knew he could trust God, with the impossible tasks presented to him. We can trust Christ as Nephi did. As we remain focused on Christ we will be at peace and see God’s miracles whatever their outcome.
We have made covenants with our Heavenly Father. We have made promises to help others come unto Christ. This obligation starts in out homes. Our ability to help other come unto Christ will largely be influenced by our example.
In Lehi’s vision he beconned to his son’s who had gone astray, he called unto them. He did not leave the tree to go after them.
Bishop Causse
The entire good news of the gospel is contained in the image of the Savior at his coming, with arms spread wide inviting all to come unto him. Plain and precious truths
- The atonement of Jesus Christ is a free gift to all
- In addition to our sins he suffered for our sorrows
- Because of Christ we can all overcome the physical death
- Receiving the full benefits of the atonement requires our efforts of having faith in Christ, repenting of our sins, and partake of the saving ordinances.
- We must progress improving continually as we draw closer to being like Him.
When have we last felt the loving influence of the Savior in our lives. Study Him, learn of Him, and become like Him.
Elder Renlund
The atonement is a gift we cannot have provided for ourselves. Every time we partake of the atonement we should reflect upon the sacrifice offered to give us this gift. We should reflect gratefully upon what is offered.
Christ can draw all men unto him, because of his submission to Heavenly Fathers will. We can come unto him and receive of the new heart he offers us. Our testimony of Christ including our testimony of the book of Mormon will allow us to truly reflect upon the gifts he has offered us.
