Suffering

Follow the Savior, he will lead you out of darkness

Brandon · Apr 5, 2020 ·

Woke up early this morning and this talk was on my mind, December 27th, 2017.

When He says to the poor in spirit, “Come unto me,” He means He knows the way out and He knows the way up… It seems clear that the essence of our duty and the fundamental requirement of our mortal life is captured in these brief phrases from any number of scenes in the Savior’s mortal ministry. He is saying to us, “Trust me, learn of me, do what I do. Then, when you walk where I am going,” He says, “we can talk about where you are going, and the problems you face and the troubles you have. If you will follow me, I will lead you out of darkness,” He promises. “I will give you answers to your prayers. I will give you rest to your souls.”1“Broken Things to Mend”

There is so much suffering in the world, let us take comfort from the Lord

Brandon · Apr 5, 2020 ·

Sometimes that suffering overwhelms. An old friend will be missed. The atonement of Christ is real and I am grateful that is an infinite atonement to be applied on both sides of the veil reaching throughout all time.

And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.

—Alma (Ancient Prophet in North America prior to Christ’s birth)1Alma 7:11

We all struggle at times, I hope we can find a message of peace when we need it most.

Because of His Atonement, the Savior has the power to succor—to help—every mortal pain and affliction.2Strengthened by the Atonement of Jesus Christ—Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

—Elder Dallin H Oaks

“Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, …
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.”3How Firm a Foundation
